The Tangled Garden … Ariel and Ujang, two childhood friends, are reunited after years spent apart. Ariel, the fair skinned son of wealthy landowners, returns to the village of his birth after graduating from university. Ujang is the son of poor farmers who once worked on Ariel’s father’s tea plantation. Despite the gulf of years, education and experiences, the two quickly re-form the close bond of their early childhood years. more…

Seven Pirates

1827.  The British brig Alceste, bound for Alexandria from Malta, is attacked by the pirate ship, the Herakles, helmed by a young Athenian seafarer and a crew of young men from the island of Hydra. The Herakles later is captured and charged by the British navy off the coast of Crete. The crew are found guilty by a jury court, consisting of four Englishmen, three Maltese, four Sicilians, a Spaniard and a Frenchman. more…
